“There is no better student of the art of Play-by-play than Ty Collins. Hungry for information, he processes it and is showing growth all the time. As he continues to strive, I see good things for Ty down the road.”

Marc Zumoff (18-time Emmy AWARD-WINNING Play-By-Play Commentator for the Philadelphia 76ers

“The professionalism, thoughtful insights, and best-in-class quality Ty consistently brings to the Wake Forest soccer broadcast booth make it a pleasure to tune in each week. He is a rising star among soccer broadcasters in this country.”

2015 MLS All-Star/USMNT

Soccer is my first love, and even though I still play competitively for fun, I stay close to the game by putting on my headset and calling matches for the best college soccer in the United States. For eight years, I have been the Play-By-Play ACC Network voice for Wake Forest University’s MEN'S and WomenS S’ Soccer teams. Soccer broadcasting in the us is different than overseas, so I try to compile my three favorite soccer commentators in one. Two English personalities and one American personality.

Ian Darke and Peter Drury have a passionate and poetic touch that will give you chills. J.P. Dellacamera is the soccer voice of the US and has been for decades. J.P. knows the game inside and outside, and I want to emulate his flow and timing every time I call a match.

“If you take a couple of steps back and look at it, you might think, ‘What is it you’re getting excited about?’. But when you’re in it, it’s a fabulous thing, and I don’t apologize for being really very, very excited about it.”  -Peter Drury-

ON CAMERA/OPENS/HALFTIME SEGMENTS

My passion for sports emerged from my early childhood days in a home that scheduled family events around ballgames. From sneaking down the stairs to peek in on Monday Night Football to calling games while playing Madden on Sega Genesis, my parents were convinced it was more than an obsession. Later my teammates would grow frustrated with my constant commentary during practices. My goal is to do whatever I can to transmit my devotion and passion to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.”

“I first met Ty during the summer of 1991. He played baseball in our summer program at Miller Park, where I was a director and coach. Ty was as focused and sincere then as he is now. ty lived at the miller park RECREATION center gym and the baseball fields. from continuous pickup basketball games and evening little league baseball games, i don’t know when he actually went home. even with his athletic abilities, he always wanted to improve and learn, which has made him such a unique sports broadcaster. Ty is a FIRST-CLASS INDIVIDUAL WHO is willing to help out others without being asked. He remains a friend today, and I am glad, but not surprised, at the wonderful person he is today.”

“If I can get a story about a player, I would give you a shipload of numbers, batting averages, and all just for that one precious story. That’s the kind of thing that I love to do.”  — Vin Scully.
